Embracing Recognition
Upon learning about her nomination, Khoza shared her excitement at being among the top five contenders and her subsequent invitation to the awards ceremony where she was presented with the prestigious award.
Motivation to Strive Higher
The 29-year-old Khoza described the achievement as a motivating factor in her journey, emphasising that it served as a clear indicator that her hard work was being appreciated and acknowledged.
She commented, “From a young age, I have learned that winning awards, however big or small, can mean a lot to build self-esteem, pride, and confidence. It has motivated me that I can do more as a young woman in business. It is a sign that my work is valued and recognised.”
A Journey of Creativity and Determination
Colleen Khoza’s journey as a graphic designer and business owner began in July 2019 when she decided to put her skills to use. However, it wasn’t until the lockdown in 2020 that her business began to flourish. During this time, she designed party posters for family and community members, and the positive feedback she received validated her chosen path.
She credited her early success to her innate design talent and passion for creativity. Starting with homemade greeting cards and later crafting posters for various events within her community, this marked her breakthrough in the industry and media landscape.

Building Valuable Connections
Over time, Khoza has cultivated valuable relationships with various businesses, and she has also gained recognition as a wedding planner. She attributes her success to her unwavering dedication to learning and growth. She emphasised her belief in self-motivation and her commitment to pushing herself as a woman to achieve independence.
Khoza stated, “I am driven by work that allows me to learn and grow. I believe in self-motivation and pushing myself hard as a woman to be independent. This made me authentic to stay true to myself and excel in what I do.”
