The South African Weather Service (Saws) has identified several regions, including Molteno, Barkley East, Lady Grey, and Matatiele, that will experience the brunt of these harsh weather conditions.

Furthermore, they have issued a warning about potential isolated livestock losses in the northern region due to the intense cold.
Expectations are for more snowfall.
Earlier today, Saws issued an alert for disruptive snowfall in the northeastern areas of the Eastern Cape.
The same alert also cautioned about damaging winds in the north to northwestern sections of KwaZulu-Natal.

On Wednesday, Saws warned that heavy snowfall in the southern Drakensberg region could lead to transportation disruptions and road closures.
This advisory, resulting from the expected heavy snowfall, particularly emphasized potential disruptions on Thursday morning for travelers.

As for the weather in the Free State, Lesotho’s weather service projected bitterly cold temperatures and heavy snowfall for this week.
These conditions are expected to extend into QwaQwa in the Free State.
